WHO WE ARE
HACKETT HOMECARE
About Siobhán Hackett – Founder of Hackett Homecare
Siobhán founded Hackett Homecare 14 years ago, driven by a deep concern about the poor standards of care she saw in her community. Her career in healthcare began 17 years ago when she started working as a Health Care Assistant while also pursuing an Honours degree in Psychology.
Through her hands-on experience, Siobhán became increasingly aware of the serious gaps in care – particularly in how staff were screened, trained, and supported. She witnessed firsthand the consequences of inadequate management and a lack of proper training and oversight.
Determined to make a real difference, Siobhán set out to build a service that delivers compassionate, professional, person-centred care—while placing a strong focus on staff quality, accountability, and continuous support.
Siobhán saw a clear gap in the market for a first-class homecare provider—one that delivers exceptional care to clients and genuinely supports and empowers its care assistants through regular training, evaluation, and guidance.
“Our care assistants make a real difference in the lives of our clients. We believe they are our greatest asset, and that belief is what sets our care apart.”
While many providers operate at the bare minimum standard for recruitment and training, a few are working to raise the bar—and Hackett Homecare is proud to be one of them.
Siobhán was shortlisted for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Awards in 2014 and served as a non-executive director on the board of Core Credit Union from 2017-2020. She also completed the 14th cycle of the Going for Growth programme with Enterprise Ireland and KPMG, and she currently serves as treasurer of Cherrywood Educate Together National School.

Linda Mulraney
Care Assistant
My work as a carer to the elderly is more than just a job, knowing I can make a difference to their life means the world to me and I care for them just as I would my own elderly parents. I love to listen to their stories and also share mine with them too. Their safety and well-being is of utmost importance to me so therefore we build up the trust required to make them feel at ease and comfortable with the loving care I am providing.
Hackett Homecare has made such a difference to my life and to the lives of every client I have cared for. Siobhán is an amazing person to work with. Her loving care to the elderly is heart-warming. At Hackett Homecare we are one big family. I love to work with all the carers on our team. When you have happy staff you have even happier clients.

Zoe McLean
CARE ASSISTANT
I love working as a homecare assistant as it gives people the choice to remain independent in their own home. I have a great passion to care and it is very rewarding to know that I make a difference in my clients’ lives. It is a pleasure to be part of the Hackett Homecare team, to work with people that care not just about their clients but also about their employees. I am supported in all aspects of my job and Siobhán is always on hand if needed. Hackett Homecare always ensures clients and carers are compatible with each other, so I have wonderful relationships with my clients and their families.
