Siobhán Hackett set up Hackett Homecare 10 years ago as she was disappointed with the quality of care being offered within the community. Siobhán started working as a Health Care Assistant while she was completing an honours degree in psychology 16 years ago.

As a care assistant, Siobhán has witnessed sub-standard levels of care in existing homecare agencies, the hire of inexperienced and untrained care assistants, poor employee screening and lack of responsive management training and support.

Siobhán was shortlisted for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Awards 2014, she served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Core Credit Union for 3 years, she recently completed the 14th cycle of Going for Growth with Enterprise Ireland and KPMG, and she is currently treasurer for Cherrywood Educate Together National School.

It is through this experience that Siobhán recognised that there was room in the homecare market for a for a first class homecare provider that would deliver an excellent level of care to each client, in addition to supporting and empowering care assistants through constant evaluation, support and training.

“Our care assistants make a huge difference in the lives of our wonderful clients. We believe that our care assistants are our greatest asset and it is with this understanding that we believe our homecare service is superior to others”

Today many companies that provide care assistants do so with the bare minimum standards of screening and selection. A small handful of companies are raising the bar on these standards and Hackett Homecare is helping to raise that bar. We diligently seek out remarkably caring, patient and friendly people to work with our clients.

MEET SOME OF OUR TEAM

My work as a carer to the elderly is more than just a job, knowing I can make a difference to their life means the world to me and to care for them just as I would my own elderly parents. I love to listen to their stories and also share mine with them too. Their safety and well-being is of utmost importance to me so therefore we build up the trust required to make them feel at ease and comfortable with the loving care I am providing.

Hackett Homecare has made such a difference to my life and to the lives of every client I have cared for. Siobhan Hackett is an amazing person to work with. Her loving care to the elderly is just heartwarming. At Hackett Homecare we are one big family, I love to work with all of the carers in our team. When you have happy staff you have even happier clients.
Quality of life is what we bring to our clients.

Linda Mulraney. Care Assistant, August 2020

I love working as a home care assistance as it gives people the choice to remain independent in their own home. I have a great passion for care and it is very rewarding to know that I make a difference in my clients’ lives and also in their families’ lives. It is a pleasure to be a part of the Hackett Homecare team, to work with people that care not just for their clients but also for their employees. I am supported in all aspects of my job and Siobhan is always on hand if needed. Hackett Homecare always ensures clients and carers are compatible with each other to which I have wonderful relationships with my clients and their families.
