Siobhán Hackett set up Hackett Homecare 10 years ago as she was disappointed with the quality of care being offered within the community. Siobhán started working as a Health Care Assistant while she was completing an honours degree in psychology 16 years ago.
As a care assistant, Siobhán has witnessed sub-standard levels of care in existing homecare agencies, the hire of inexperienced and untrained care assistants, poor employee screening and lack of responsive management training and support.
Siobhán was shortlisted for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Awards 2014, she served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Core Credit Union for 3 years, she recently completed the 14th cycle of Going for Growth with Enterprise Ireland and KPMG, and she is currently treasurer for Cherrywood Educate Together National School.
It is through this experience that Siobhán recognised that there was room in the homecare market for a for a first class homecare provider that would deliver an excellent level of care to each client, in addition to supporting and empowering care assistants through constant evaluation, support and training.
“Our care assistants make a huge difference in the lives of our wonderful clients. We believe that our care assistants are our greatest asset and it is with this understanding that we believe our homecare service is superior to others”
Today many companies that provide care assistants do so with the bare minimum standards of screening and selection. A small handful of companies are raising the bar on these standards and Hackett Homecare is helping to raise that bar. We diligently seek out remarkably caring, patient and friendly people to work with our clients.
